This piece is priceless to me and I knew it was finished in 5 minutes. What came from my natural open movement application was not only a striking blend of color but also you can find nearly in the center, a portion of a face. That face is my deceased brother, Thomas P. Rochford otherwise named, T.P. While the paint was still wet, I wept. As my mother said it best, I was guided with this piece. It will never be for sale, for as long as i live.

Would You Ask the Sky?

Exemplary of what I do, how i do it and the mirror of the natural course of our surroundings is represented in Window Seat. My application process and how a piece is worked through and finalized can very much be compared to how clouds or trees are formed naturally. My supplies are the moisture, seedlings, nutrients while my application and non-objective approach are the wind and pressure. The final image is the cloud or tree you see, in all it's natural shape.

Tonight was a very open and cathartic night for me. I reached out to many who have meant much to me and some were available while others weren't, understandably. Standing alone in the studio with music and paint i processed what i could. Unrequited love, jaded friendships, confused scenarios and anything else that lie between. I think i squared away quite a bit of it. Rebuilding my health and stance will take will on my part and support on others. I'm happy when both work together. Meanwhile, I still paint.

The girl. There's always a girl. A girl that mystifies me. One who I fall over myself for and more times than not, it is completely unrequited. I become the fool. This world is full of beauty and i can't have it all. I'm wrecked and left to see only the ugly truth, me.

The relationship between music and art is organic, feeding on one another all the while responding to our life experiences. Music, lyrics and sound are instrumental to my process.
Currently I've been driven to paint to Jasmine Thompson, Nirvana, Lisa Gerrard and Tool, to name a few. Not sure if there is much more of a variance. A song for every mood and always at full throttle. And if it's not loud enough still, I marry my face to the speaker and sing the lyrics as they go. When all is said and dried, I feel drained after I finish a piece. I retire to my room, cuddle my cat and know I've left everything I had to give in my work.
